On International Women's Day, we celebrated the remarkable achievements of women and highlighted the importance of recognizing their contributions across all fields. At ITSector, we believe that innovation and technology can only thrive when diversity is valued at every step.

As part of our commitment to inspiring the next generation, two of our specialists visited Escola Básica e Secundária Fontes Pereira de Melo, where they spoke to 12th-grade students at a pivotal stage in their academic journey. The session was filled with meaningful exchanges, as our experts showed the young talents that the future of technology can also be shaped by women.

Sara Freitas, Senior UX/UI Designer, shared her insights on bridging the gap between academia and the tech industry, drawing on her experience with the group: "I believe in the importance of the connection between academia and the job market for technological growth. Exchanging experiences with young talents, alongside another female colleague, reinforced the importance of an environment where talent and collaboration outweigh differences"

As for Carla Alves, IS Senior Consultant, who also took part in the initiative, reflected on the significance of this day and, as a developer, by emphasizing the importance of empowering upcoming generations to break gender barriers in this field: “International Women's Day symbolizes the strength and resilience needed to build a fairer future. By sharing my experience, I hoped to help students understand that talent and professional fields are not defined by gender, and that women play a key role in advancing technology and innovation."
